Meet Dr. Silvers

Dr. Jennifer Silvers was born in the hospital across the street from her office, and she was raised on the Peninsula. Science-minded from the beginning, she grew up wanting to be an entomologist, but she eventually decided that insects would make a better hobby for her than an occupation.

When it was time to create a career plan, she was inspired by her dentist father to work in the dental field, and subsequently enlisted as a dental assistant in the US Army. Further dental training in the military convinced her she wanted to become a dentist herself. So she went on to get her doctorate in dental surgery from the University of the Pacific’s dental school in San Francisco.

Continuing her education and training, she completed a clinical program, residency, and early employment as a dentist with the military—a spell that took her to Washington state and Texas. While there, she became known for her compassion and ability to put patients at ease, and she was the dentist all nervous patients were referred to. She was the recipient of the Thomas B. Hartzell Award for Clinical Periodontics in 2012. And in 2017, she was given the Army Achievement Medal for her work on a humanitarian mission treating the Native American population in Montana.

She eventually moved back to her native California and joined her father’s practice, which she has since taken over. She also trains the next generation of dentists, teaching on the faculty at the University of the Pacific’s dental school.

Dr. Silvers loves being a dentist and genuinely loves getting to know her patients. She purposely chose not to specialize in any one field because she likes building relationships with her patients year after year. Her favorite part of dentistry is re-creating someone’s smile when they come to her with a chipped or cracked tooth. Following her personal motto, “Strive for perfection, accept excellence,” she takes a great deal of pride in her work, even hand-sculpting fillings to give patients the most natural look possible.
